Sunday Worship: 10:00 a. m.

Children's Sunday School  - lesson boxes during worship

Nursery - On Hold

Explorers Adult Group:  11:15 a. m.

We hope you can join us for our

Worship Service this Sunday, October 25th,

at 10 am.  We are back in our sanctuary!

Please follow all protocols as described below in a note from Pastor Ken.

It’s time to return to our sanctuary.  With our Bishop’s approval, we are offering indoor in-person worship.  Granted, we are a little slower to do this than some churches in our community, but we have done so out of an abundance of caution.  Safety first.

It is in that spirit that we have developed important protocols for making our indoor in-person worship as safe for you as possible.

Masks will be required. Unless you’re 2 years old or under, mouths and noses must be covered.

We have taped off rows and seats in the sanctuary so that folks in different households can worship indoors together but socially distant.

A very intimidating usher or 2 will meet you at the sanctuary door and take you to your seat, based on the number of people in your “party”.

Our PowerPoint presentations will replace the need for bulletins and hymnals.  (We will continue to email bulletins to you ahead of time, if you’d prefer to BYOB – bring your own bulletin).

Every pew will be disinfected after each service, as will the restrooms and door handles.

If you’re not feeling well, please stay home and watch the service online.  The Church of Jesus Christ will be here till the second coming.

The worship services themselves will be different – the choir, the offering, the sacraments, the children’s sermons will all be different.  You’re gonna have to get used to it.  And Fellowship Hour, Sunday School and nursery care have been discontinued until further notice.   When it is safe to restart these important ministries, we will.  Trust me.

And I’ll trust YOU - to wear your mask, to maintain social distance, to stay home if you’re not feeling well, and to have the patience of Job while we navigate these turbulent times.

Together, with the help of God, we can do this.
Pastor Ken

The service will also be livestreamed

through our Facebook page.

Who We Are...

We are a church family that welcomes everyone through our doors no matter the political affiliation, no matter which forms of Christian thought you hold, no matter what - you are welcome here  because we are all members of the family of God.

Like other families, we may not always agree on everything, but we are called to love one another enough to forgive one another, respect our differences, and work and minister together as we spread and live out the Gospel message of God’s love offered to this world in the form of Jesus Christ, our risen Lord and Savior.

To this end, we aspire to do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with our God (Micah 6:8).

Meet our Staff and Ministry Leaders

In whom we believe...

We believe in God – the Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer of our lives and this world.

We believe in Jesus Christ and in the redemptive, restorative power of his death upon the cross.

We believe in the presence of the Holy Spirit, who lives and dwells among us - moving us to prayer and praise, inspiring us to work for peace and justice, and equipping us to become the disciples that God has called and gifted us to be.

Who we serve...

We serve a good and perfect God, who calls us to be in ministry to all.

Mission endeavors here - UMARMY, Shelter Now, ongoing food drive for the Cheshire Food Pantry, UMCOR special offerings, flood buckets.

What We Believe...

We Follow Jesus Christ

and His Loving Example.

Because inclusiveness has always been a core value of the Cheshire United Methodist Church, we are a Welcoming and Reconciling congregation. That means we embrace diversity and affirm the dignity and worth of every person - because we have all been created by the same loving God. We seek to live out Christ's call for compassion, justice, healing and wholeness. Therefore, we welcome into our faith community persons of every race, gender, age, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnicity, marital status, mental and physical ability, economic and social position, gender identity and expression, level of education, and family structure. We strongly believe that we can all love alike, even if we don't all think alike. We invite all to share in the life, leadership, lay and ordained ministry, worship and sacraments, the covenant of committed love in holy matrimony, fellowship, blessings and joys of our congregation as we seek to grow together in faith and love.

Whether you are visiting, seeking a new church home or actively seeking God, we are delighted that you have chosen to learn more about the Cheshire United Methodist Church!   Please join us for worship and fellowship.  If you have any questions after visiting our website you can reach us at pastor@cheshireumc.com
